Dr Simon Meagher and associates invite you to register online to attend a 2 day educational program directed at Sonographers, Radiologists, Obstetrician Gynaecologists and COGU trainees at all levels of training.
This workshop will provide attendees the opportunity to learn, review and update their clinical and technical skills in Obstetric/Gynaecological ultrasound.
This 2 day workshop presents over 1500 Video clips of Fetal and Gynaecological Pathology. This lecture series is part 1 of a two part lecture series. Key focus points of the meeting include:
- Medico-legal trends in obstetric ultrasound
AVANT, Australias largest defence organisation will present a summary of obstetric ultrasound claims over a 20 year period.Results of the claims file review will outline specific anomalies most likely to lead to litigation. Three lectures will present 150 video clip sequences of anomalies which may elude antenatal diagnosis and lead to litigation.
- Fetal cardiac malformation.
A complete library of fetal cardiac malformation will be presented over 2 days. 400 Video clip sequences outlining 50 individual anomaly sequences will be presented in a question and answer format. Audience participation will be encouraged.
- Fetal brain malformation.
In the context of increasing medico-legal activity in obstetric ultrasound, 4 lectures will be devoted to fetal central nervous system malformations. 250 Video clip demonstrations of 30 individual CNS anomaly sequences will be presented.
- First trimester pregnancy failure.
Practical guidelines in the diagnosis of pregnancy failure. Classification of miscarriage by ultrasound. Tubal Ectopic pregnancy. Non tubal ectopic pregnancy. Normal and abnormal variations observed during first trimester.
- Gynaecological Ultrasound.
Sonographic approach to endometrial diagnosis. A practical guide to the diagnosis and management of adnexal pathology.
- Third trimester assessment of fetal wellbeing .
This topic will include the basics of third trimester fetal assessment and outline the systematic approach to Doppler assessment of the fetal circulation
in the compromised fetus
